What?

This workshop consists of two morning sessions devoted to helping students start or continue work on their college application essays. The course will begin with an overview of what admissions officers are looking for, followed by brainstorming sessions, focused time for writing, and feedback from teachers.

Why?

Writing a college essay can be challenging! Whether it’s not knowing what to write about, procrastinating, or not even knowing how to begin, it’s normal for the process to feel difficult. This workshop seeks to alleviate some of those challenges by providing an intentional, collaborative space to think, reflect, and write, with support from teachers who have guided many students through the process. This course provides students the opportunity to get a head start on their college application, and to write a meaningful essay that communicates their voice and strengths to prospective colleges. By investing in a few morning sessions this summer, students are investing in their future.

Cost

The cost for the two mornings is $225. Sliding scale and scholarships available.
